Venus by Tor Fruergaard, “for its creative use of claymation characters to explore sexual adventure and its lighthearted, touching and memorable story.
Eventhough we didn’t win this prize I am very proud for the nomination! Somebody out there must think that Venus is fostering Intercultural dialog.

Next stop: Munich!
Venus was selected for INTERNATIONALES FESTIVAL DER FILMHOCHSCHULEN MÜNCHEN. Check out the German pitch :)
Venus is one of my favorite shorts in the festival (…) It’s really fantastic.
Our pick of the best new short films from around the world includes dystopian zombie thriller The Unliving (Sweden), claymation as you’ve never seen it before in the erotic comedy Venus (pictured, Denmark), and danger lurking beneath the surface in the award-winning The Strange Ones (USA).
Venus has been invited to a few festivals. I will be present at Chicago International Film Festival in October (Venus is also selected for the sneak preview in August) and Nordisk Panorama in September (in Aarhus, where I grew up). See you out there :)
Venus is in the official sellection at the worlds biggest animation festival Annecy. 1955 films were in consideration and only 207 films were selected.
The festival takes place in Annecy, France from June 7th till june 11th.
I am really looking forward to this! See you in Annecy :-D
This short student film from Denmark tells a wonderfully sweet story about how to solve the problems in a relationship that has lost it’s spark. It is both insightful, funny and touching. The film mixes simple character design with real sophisticated film making in the animation technique called “claymation”. “VENUS” is very well directed evidenced both the shot choices and the set designs and very well written evidenced by the dialogue that rings true and the overall originality of the piece.
